Hello! I’m Jennifer

Licensed Professional Counselor and
Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor

After graduating from Michigan State University with a B.A. in Journalism – Go Spartans! – I worked in marketing and communications. After my two children were born, I focused on freelance writing for various publications, mostly focusing on military spouses and military family issues.

When I was 39, I went back to school for my M.A. in Counseling from the University of Texas – San Antonio. I worked for a variety of agencies, including a 24-hour crisis and detox center. I then decided to jump into the private practice world, and enjoyed my private-pay practice for more than five years. I am currently working in corporate America as a Mental Health Clinical Trainer and doing some freelance writing on the side.

I continue to live in San Antonio, Texas, and in my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, running, and obsessing about my Boston Terrier, Kermit.

Blog Post: Adventure

I'm a runner. I try and run at least four to five times a week, and have specific routes and distances that I run. Depending on the day and amount of time I have, I knock out between three and five miles. The other morning, I woke up while everyone in my house was...
